O penhor de participações sociais como garantia de crédito bancário
Maputo, February 2025 – FNB Mozambique launched the FNB Young Talent Development program in January 2025, aimed at identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining young Mozambican talent while preparing them for a career in the banking sector.
The program, which lasts 12 months and is implemented across several countries within the FirstRand Group, including subsidiaries in Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Zambia, offers comprehensive, hands-on training. It gives participants the opportunity to work in key areas such as finance, risk management, technological innovation, and more, while receiving continuous guidance and tailored training.
In its inaugural edition, FNB recruited three graduates, aged between 23 and 29, with backgrounds in fields such as Computer Engineering and Data Science. The application process, conducted via LinkedIn, attracted over 300 candidates. The selection of these promising individuals included one-on-one interviews, aptitude tests, and group dynamics. As part of their development, the selected graduates had the chance to attend international training in South Africa, as well as specialized training within FNB Mozambique.
The program’s launch in the group’s subsidiaries was tailored to local realities, while maintaining the same structure and principles across all markets. This approach provides the graduates with a global understanding of the bank's operations and the opportunity to collaborate across different departments.
Melba Jorge, Head of Human Capital at FNB, stated: “The FNB Young Talent Development Program offers a unique platform for young talent to grow within a global environment of innovation and excellence. We are excited to see the impact this program will have on the future leaders of the financial industry.” She also emphasized that “the inclusion of these young professionals brings fresh perspectives to the bank, with new ideas and approaches that align better with the current needs of the financial market. In addition to their up-to-date academic knowledge, they are immersed in a constantly evolving world, with strong digital skills and critical thinking, enabling them to implement more agile and creative solutions. They bring a holistic view of the market, master advanced digital tools, and have a deep understanding of behavioral and social changes—key elements for tackling the challenges of an interconnected world.”
By bringing in this new generation of professionals, FNB is counting on their ability to challenge the status quo, offering innovative financial solutions that are more focused on client needs, while fostering a more inclusive and flexible organizational culture.
With a strong commitment to growth and diversity, FNB not only strengthens its position as a bank that prioritizes constant innovation but also ensures it remains aligned with global trends, leading with cutting-edge financial solutions and adaptable practices.
The bank plans to hold more editions of the program, further solidifying its position as a top employer.
